amna: i want to ask you about doge.taking a step back soon from his job inside the white house. how effective has been when it comes to cutting government spending? >> doge has been really effective generating headlines and creating chaos. despite promises to save $2 trillion, downscaled to $1 trillion and they claimed they have already saved 160 billion dollars, the verified savings have been closer to about $5 billion or $6 billion which is 1/10 of 1% of federal spending. that is all. they have really focused on cultural issues like d.e.i., grants, foreign aid and government employees. that isn't where the money is. it creates a lot of excitement among mag voters but they have truly only saved 1/10 of 1% of federal spending. amna: they have not touched defense or other big-ticket items. doge claims on its website it saved about 160 billion dollars but many of the cuts have been halted by the courts or republicans are now saying they may not want to enshrine them into law. if republicans don't make the cuts law, are th
